WHAT DOES A LIFESTYLE PHOTOSHOOT LOOK LIKE?

It was seriously freezing on the day when Teegan, Laurie, and Lauren from The Sisterhood Collective showed up for their lifestyle photo shoot in Canberra. None of these gals live anywhere near ACT, so kudos to them for braving the cold with me. But hey, these ladies get the importance of making their business look awesome with killer content pictures, and that’s what matters. So, I was totally stoked to capture an whole new collection of images for their evolving brand this time around!

We did some serious planning before this shoot. We hopped on a Zoom call to chat about creating a super cool Image Library for their brand. This library had to cover all their digital assets, customer touch points, and social media images for the whole year. They wanted more of a “lifestyle” vibe rather than corporate pics like we did for them last time (see the gallery here). They had a few specific things in mind:

  1. Show each of their awesome personalities.
  2. Bring out the fun and free spirit in the group.
  3. Share stories about their business – you know, hanging out on social media, diving into business books, going on adventures, and relaxing with a glass of wine and pals.
  4. Show off their brand’s values: Growth, Freedom, and Living Your Best Life.
  5. Get fresh headshots for their social media game.

We got down to the nitty-gritty details – planning outfits, picking props, and making a list of all the shots we wanted. We made sure to make the most of every single moment during the shoot. I also had three awesome spots lined up for our full-day shoot around Canberra, starting with the Albert Hall. I went with this spot because of its big green windows that matched the Sisterhood brand’s colors. Plus, it had a cool European vibe, which tied into their value of freedom to travel. We kinda pretended we were on an overseas adventure.

The second location was none other than the National Gallery of Australia. We specifically used the James Turell Skyspace sculpture which acted as a wonderful playground for us to create these epic celebratory shots with the perfect confetti throwing, I hope you noticed!

The third and final location was Rydges Hotel in Canberra. We used the space to act as a living room with some of the scenarios we created. Together the team received 100 totally amazing images to use right throughout their business which will inspire them to create conversations with their followers, brand visuals that stand out in the crowd, and a professional brand that is ready to work with new clients. Don’t you just love the positive vibe and energy of this shoot??
