The request from Olivia for her new branding photos for her photography business was dark and moody, with lots of shadows and nothing bright and airy.
Well, that was a challenge for me who never usually works in the darkness. I had to push myself to change my usual way of capturing a portrait in natural bright light. I had to think differently this time, Find the shadows instead of the light. It was a backward way of working for me. I welcomed it though. We headed out to NewActon Precinct in Canberra’s north. Olivia a fellow photographer, brought only her Sony camera as a prop and wore her favorite cream suit that represents her brand and makes her feel great.
We used a selection of grey walls in the New Acton area, we used the low-lit foyer of the nearby building and created a few extra scenes inside the QT Hotel in Canberra where we found the perfect cream interior to match her outfit. The result is a gorgeous collection of images for Olivia’s photography website and social media marketing.
Would you agree, this collection is to die for!?
