Live studio workshop mastering the headshot with GRACE COSTA

Lighting Masterclass

The best way to upskill is in person

I’m so pleased to bring this photography workshop to Melbourne, especially for those passionate about shooting portraiture.

Whether you’re a trained photographer or self-taught, we all have something more to learn photography is an ever-evolving industry.

This workshop is your chance to become more masterful at posing everyday people for business headshots, and to confidently use simple lighting and setup techniques, as well as learn the business model behind my successful headshot service.

Lighting (Part 1)

Headshot photography is one of the most valuable opportunities you can add to your business and it doesn’t require a huge investment to get started.

I’ve watched photographers go from feeling scared to say yes to a headshot enquiry, to confidently photographing 40 people in an hour. The tools are simple, the technique can be mastered, and the flow can be practised I’ll show you each step to get you there.

In this live workshop, I’ll teach you the exact lighting techniques I use to create professional, consistent headshots every time, whether you’re photographing one person or an entire team. These setups take under 10 minutes to create, so you can walk in confident and walk out with images you’re proud of.

We’ll also cover:

  • How to give decisive, clear direction to your client

  • How mirror posing can make directing easier if words aren’t your strength

  • How to put a client at ease when they’re posing for the first time

  • My top 3 lighting setups for headshots, easily replicable. We’ll use the Godox studio flashed + Nikon speedlights

"My goal is simple: to make lighting easier to understand, easier to remember and easier to apply. Less equipment. Less choice. More clarity, confidence and better results."

Headshot Poses (part 2)

Posing for corporate headshots is specific and people expect a traditional, polished look. I know it can be intimidating to walk into a corporate office and photograph people in suits who would rather sit at their desk than get their picture taken. But Headshots is a neich that can grow your business from avery $5k month and take it to $10k once you get known for doing great work.  I’ll show you how to create relaxed, natural images your clients will love, no matter which style you’re shooting for.

You’ll learn how to pose different body shapes with confidence, how to build a high-volume workflow for shooting teams of 40+ headshots in an hour, and what lenses work best for the style and feeling you want to capture. It’s a skill worth mastering if you want to build a reliable new offering into your business.

You’ll learn:

  • My top 3 go-to corporate poses for men and women

  • My perfected formula for posing groups with ease

  • My posing formula you can use on your next client shoot

  • Your questions about posing different body shapes answered

  • I’ll show you the proof that different camera lenses can create different feelings, even on a simple portrait like a headshot

  • I’ll share my headshot business model (pricing, delivery and more)

Early bird pricing closes Oct 15th 2026.
