The forgotten image. This image hasn’t seen the The forgotten image.
This image hasn’t seen the light of day since I created it about 10 years ago for the Olive Cotton Photo Awards. It didn’t make it in to the finalist list and I know why, because it’s not my strongest work. At the time I wasn’t sure how to finish the piece, I wasn’t sure if it was a powerful enough image for this particular photo competition, but I do remember my friend and I being startled when we saw this image of her for the first time.

She said to me- “Oh my god, you have captured ‘exactly’ how I feel right now Grace. I feel old. I feel lost. I’ve lost my way. This image is a moment in time for me.”

So what can be an unsuccessful image in one instance can be successful for other reasons, sometimes more meaningful than a photo competition at least.
So when you think about retouching, you think you So when you think about retouching, you think you are going to be made to look like plastic, right? Well I edit with a very light hand, I’m not here to make you look ten years younger, but I’m here to enhance and improve what comes directly out of my camera (the RAW file). I will remove things that are a distraction from your beautiful face, I will brighten everything and give it the punch it needs to jump off the page 🤩 and help you look like the superstar you are!

Hey, look at this, I can create a digital photo bo Hey, look at this, I can create a digital photo booth just like that!! How much fun does this look with my friend and fellow photographer @olivemaeve ? The colours pop and paired with the stripes makes Olivia feel like bouncing around and being playful like a little kid 🍦! I just love the energy of this collection.

Anyone else wanna play with me and have shots like this?

I have 2 spots remaining for personal branding during May. Send me a quick DM or head to the link in my bio to find out more.
Before and After: Changes to an image don’t have Before and After: Changes to an image don’t have to be dramatic but shooting in RAW format means the colours are dull, and the contrast will be flat so they need some adjustment. I also adjusted the alignment of the wall because with a 24-70m lens, the walls will appear wonky and we don’t want wonky walls.

I think people generally may not understand what it takes to finish off digital images that’s why photographers are at their computer half the time, crafting these beautiful images for our clients to love and enjoy.

These gorgeous ladies are from @the_sisterhoodcollective. How much do these girls just beam happiness and love between them? 💜🔥
