I will always encourage photographers who want to I will always encourage photographers who want to level up their skill set and their creativity to visit exhibitions on a regular basis.

This is one of the most influential professional practices I do as a photographer and artist. It’s made a huge difference to how I view stories, how I curate my own work and inspires me to not only see the world differently but make new work based on what already exists in the world.

A curve is a Broken Line is one of the best photography exhibitions I’ve seen in a while @hodaafshar at the @artgalleryofnsw. From this show I learned something about Iranian culture, I saw new and interested ways to hang photographers and I was inspired to tell more secrets with my camera like this exhibition does.

The @headonphotofest was on in Sydney so my friend The @headonphotofest was on in Sydney so my friends and I took a trip to see all the latest story telling work from around the world and the offical Portrait Awards inside the Bondi Pavillion won by @canipsi. We also visited the most wonderful photography exhibtion by Iranian Australian documentary photography @hodaafshar. I absolutely loved every corner of her show. It challenged me it inspired me and made me want to know more about Hoda so I came home with the book.

Congratulations to @hodaafshar on the exhibtion @artgalleryofnsw it was the highlight of my year as far as exposure to art is concerned.

The 19 year old version of me didn’t feel very s The 19 year old version of me didn’t feel very smart at school. I was an enthusiastic student but average grades except in art subjects where I was top of the class. 🏆All I knew, was that I was passionate about art and being a photographer seemed like a prestigious career back then. 📸

22 years on, I’m standing here at the CIT graduate show in the High Court of Australia with my two original teachers who were tough on me, but nurtured me none the less. They helped prepare me for the career I’ve build over 2 decades and inspired me to help other students on their journey into a career as a photographer. I’ve found out over the years that I’m not just a photographer, I’m a natural teacher and leader as well so I add that string to my bow.

Last night the Photo Diaries Podcast (me) donated a prize of a private mentoring session to the new class of CIT student.

Part of my job is to come up with the ideas, which Part of my job is to come up with the ideas, which at times can be super easy, and at times really hard.

Today I did a reccy at Old Parliament House in Canberra which is such a historical place to photograph. I can imagine all the things I can do inside this space on a personal branding shoot.
In my Nonna's street in Western Sydney, I came acr In my Nonna's street in Western Sydney, I came across these two ladies who kindly posed for my camera many years ago. Today I'm looking at this image so differently seeing a mother and daughter's body language is interesting to me, and this is what I see.

The mother has open body language a confident stance with hands open and directing her face to the camera showing she has nothing to hide from me. The daughter, to me feels slightly independant of her mother with the outward lean, hands together and her face showing off her best angle. I feel the daughter wants to show herself to me and be 'seen'

I am very much into growing closer to my spiritual I am very much into growing closer to my spirituality especially in the last 4 years. I grew up in the catholic school system (except for yr 11-12) and was never really surrounded by the idea of what spirituality really is all about. Maybe it was the same for you as well?

If you are a close person in my network you’ll know all about the classes, workshops and trainings I’ve opened up to in order to discover new thoughts, access to my inner self and ways of understanding the world I live in. I always share this stuff IRL conversations because I’m finding it all so fascinating I can’t help but share it. Even this year I got my first set of Oracle cards and enrolled in learning about Human Design, Flow science, manifesting and even the nature of energetics.

I’ve started seeing double and triple numbers all the time now, which partly means I’m waking up to myself and the energies around me.

Shout out to my teachers for making my life a more abundant and interesting place to be đź’« @yvettemayer_ @_rubylee_ @thinkoutloudwellness đź’«
