We are so grateful for the memories captured of our family by @littlegrasshoper they are all set in this beautiful Ngunnawal Country in Uriarra with the perfect warm country colour palette and topped off with our cute little bubba Sophie

Growing up on a farm with horses, this backdrop was just so fitting for our photos. I used to be a family portrait photographer in my early days, so I know how valuable capturing these memories is.

Shoot like this, don't come by magic. The way I coordinate branding shoots for corporate teams, after discovering their needs, I create a shortlist. This list is detailed with the scenario to capture, the people who will be in that shot, the props required for that scene, and all the other relevant details. Once this is laid out we plan all the logistics, set up a couple hours for the shoot and by the end of the shoot the client has a whole library of images they can use on their website as well as their upcoming marketing material.

Many organizations are shifting from a graphics-based website and infusing real, custom-made images that speak directly to their audience. I'm here for that! 📷

Studying photography is not what it used to be. When I was a student at TAFE, we learned how to print black & white in the darkroom, we learned how to develop our own film, and measure the dark & light within a photographic print, for what purpose, I still do not know?! It was called sensitometry and densitometry. When I worked at Kodak printing photos, we were surrounded by chemicals drying up our noses all day long, and we would spend so much money on film, for half of them to not turn out! These were the early 2000's of my photography journey.

Now I've been educating others to improve their digital photography, I think how easy people have it, I mean, anyone can learn photography in a day if they want to. They don't have to waste time learning the art of printing because they probably won't be printing their own photos, nor will they waste money on developing film and waiting a week to see the results. It's a cheaper hobby now for people than it used to be.

In saying that, I remember how hesitant I was to transition into buying a digital camera system. I don't like new technology once I've mastered something I like to stick with it. That's probably why I haven't migrated to a mirrorless camera system either.

I love taking portraits when I travel, except it takes me a moment to get the courage to go up to someone in the wild and ask for their photo. I know, even after all these years it still makes me shy. Taking images like this help tell the story of my travels so it's important to me, plus I can use these images to enter into photo competitions which I make sure to do every year.

Let's talk Corporate Branding- When I came to the website of Trilogy Investment Funding they had no images of people, their staff, or anything resembling human life. It was a beautiful website don't get me wrong, but If I was a potential customer I wouldn't know if I could trust the company behind this website, because I didn't see anyone's face that I could connect with! These days we are so skeptical of fake accounts and unsecured websites, it's vital that we can connect with people searching through our website so they feel safe, they feel connected and they feel like they can trust us. 😇

Now I have created a whole suite of images for the company to add to their website to make it 100x more engaging and relatable to the new customers.

I try to get it right 'in camera', but it's not always possible. See this image, for example, this is my retouching instructions to give this portrait of Oscar the final touches it needed.

We had a difficult time taking this photo, to begin with, so I'm super lucky we got this shot at all. I mean Oscar was a dream to work with, he was only acting naturally as any horse with a living plant on his head would...he shook his head over and over when we placed this on top of his bridle. Lucky the fabulous @louloumoxom made two versions so we had back up.

All the adjustments were made in Photoshop, and in the second slide you can see the final result.
